LIVENER - REVIEWS

"This is the first release from the newly founded Nottingham based Intromit label. The title track hints subtly at bands such as Cast and OCS, but is really much better than that. A more suitable comparison would be singer Ian Humphries voice to that of the Auteurs' Luke Haines. The whole EP has a charming folky feel, but often veers off into more murky territory. Other treats on the album include the accordion on "Day in Day out", and the cheeky disco rustle of the chorus of "Goldrush". Nottingham in centre-of-new-music shocker? Stranger things have happened."
Record Collector (Nov 1999)

"The elegant ennui of "Long lost" pulls threads of Portishead's majesty and mastery of soundtrack dynamics into a guitar band set-up. Record Collector likened the band to the Auteurs and that's not far off the mark either."
Robots and Electronic Brains (Jan 2000)

"If you see these live you'll be humming their songs for months."
Shallow Above E-zine
